  • Sealing pine wood floors

I have pine tongue and groove wood floors and have had them refinished a couple of years ago and since then cool air from the crawl space is coming up in the house and making the furnace run non stop, is there some thick clear coat that I can apply to the floors to seal all the cracks. This summer I will be putting insulation in the floor joist in the crawl space but want to do the floors also if available. Thanks

No, not really, not unless you want the floor to buckle and crack. It has to be able to move seasonally and that's going to open and close the joints slightly, like it or not. If the flooring was just laid down over the joists with no vapor barrier between, the only real option is to get down into the crawlspace and install insulation there. Doing anything else is just asking for trouble.
