  • New planer gloat... (Pic's Inside)

I finally found a guy on my block that was able to help me lift the planer down... Wasn't to bad...

Got it all uncrated and assembled in about 30 min's... I switched it over to 220v before I ever threw and power to it... It runs like a dream... A bit on the noisy side but I am guessing it is quieter than a bench top with a universal motor...
I ran a few pieces of 3" x 5" oak through and it came out smooth as a babies spanker... I am very pleased with the quality of this unit... Packaging was very good and there isn't a scratch on it... Jet even included a can of white paint just incase...

If anyone is interested, I bought the unit for $719.00 from www.woodworkersshop.com ... They were originally asking $799.00, but the manager gave me a better deal... I spoke with a 2 people from the store, Jason the manager and Linda the internet sales person... They both are awesome to work with... I had a friend pick it up from the Pekin, IL store on his semi while he was passing by and they had it shrink wrapped to the hilt to keep any moister out on the 450 some mile ride home... I will do business with them again in the future...

Well, as is always said; if there are no pictures, it didn't happen... So here they are...

I want to thank all the folks that gave me planer advise and have guided me along the way... There are many great people on this site...

This is what everything looks like when its put to bed for the night...

The shop is getting whiter and whiter all the time... Next will be maybe a JET jointer and mortise machine and who knows from there... Got to save again for a while for the next tool...

I really like the new Jet Supersaw with 52" fence and sliding table... What a sweet machine... Got to check one out on vacation in Denver, Co at Rockler a couple weeks ago and fell in love...
