On the bottom of the leg I'm going to turn it on the lathe. Where should the center be mark on the blank? thanks

I'm not sure of what you are asking Andy , I have always been under the impression that in the construction of a cabriole leg a lathe wasn't used.
        Confused,

Hi: Just as a matter of interest a simulated cabriole leg can be produced on a lathe by turning the end with the foot "off center" I turned some last year using this method with good results.

I took a seminar with Marc Adams and he showed how to cut the leg on a bandsaw, and then, in a matter of 10 minutes, was able to rough out the curved edges and round foot with just a rasp. Pretty amazing when you see someone who has the skill and technique do it in front of you.
