i reciently saw a picture of a "belt sander table" in a magazine or catalog that i wanted to go back to and now i cant find it. it was a table that surrounded a belt sander allowing you to use it as a benchtop sander. anyone else seen/heard of/have one of these? would love to find the plans

If the plans you saw were for constructing one from wood, I came across one recently too. Just tried to locate it again, but don't see it. One point I remember is that it was more or less an idea, not measured plans. Too many different types of belt sanders out there for one jig to do all.
Flip your sander upside down and use some scrap pieces for a general idea of what you need. Keep in mind you'll want access to adjustment knob, switch and lock, and a vacuum attachment. When you figure it all out, mount to a piece of sheet stock that you can clamp or screw down. Be creative! HTH.
