concern over HD commitment

    OK, I'll try to make it more clear - buy the saw, you will not be disappointed.

    One other point - there are very few accessories that you need HD support for.
    Blades - purchase anywhere,
    Fence - most likely upgrading if replacing,
    Miter - same thing

    As far as replacement parts are concerned, they are not stocked by HD anyway. I have had some experience with Ridgid's product support (I broke a screw on the lathe when I tightened down too hard ) and they have been very knowledgable and responsive, getting me replacement parts within a few days.

    Bottom line, you will not need much HD support in any event after you buy this saw. Once set up, it purrs like a kitten.
