  • New Store In Town

For those of you who live in the Hampton Roads Area of Virginia. There is a New Woodcraft Store in Virginia Beach. They Just opened on Monday Dec. 15th. At last we have a real Woodworking Supply Store in our area. I for one am really looking forward to going there and taking a few of the classed thay have to offer. I'm palning on taking my Wondeful wife there this Saturday so she can get some of the things I've been asking for for Christmas. It's going to be great.

Have you been to Blue Ridge Hardwoods? They are just east of Pembroke Mall, off of Virginia Beach Blvd.

Woodcraft is Great. There staff and The Owners Bill and Heather Really know their Stuff. They wont sell you more equipment then you need and more tool then you need. As for Blue Ridge Hardwoods Goes, They are going out of Busniess. In fact One of there people is now working for Woodcraft. If you get to Virginia Beach take a trip to Woodcraft. You wont be sorry.

Not More tools then you need, More tool then you need. Say you need a band saw. They would ask you waht you'll be using it for and sell you one that would fit your needs. They would'nt try to sell you a 18' when a 12' is all you really need. I want to buy a Lathe so I can try doing some turnings. The man I talk to about it told me to buy a smaller bench top type, I would not spend as much and if I found out I did not like it I would not have spent as much. To me that shows they care about there customes.

You are right Pepaw, most of the smaller places are like car salesmen. You walk in wanting a Ford Taurus and they want to send you off the lot in a Lincoln Town Car.

The few WoodCraft Stores I have dealt with were pretty aggressive in getting you to upgrade. Glad to hear that you will son be able to visit a store that knows what good customer service is all about.

A new Woodcraft just opened here in Delaware that same weekend. Unfortunately the local Woodworkers Warehouse announced that that were going out of business. You do have to have deep pockets to shop in those stores. I hope they can survive in this day and age of internet shopping.
