Anyone seen this new saw? I think it is a great idea but I wonder about the quality and accuracy.

If you are installing flooring it could save a lot of back and forth to the miter saw or table saw.

Great idea. From the pictures the base appears to be well made (was a little surprised as I would think the base alone would be priced close to the $199 shown, maybe $149.00 with good bearings).

Will be interesting to see the comments after it is released next month. I will say the few items I have seen lately with the Skil brand have not "felt" of very good quality to me. (the router set and table saw at Lowes).

Yes, I would like to see it too. I have for years wondered why the radial saw did not evolve into a bridge style saw much like a bridge style tile saw. With support at both the front and rear accuracy issue could be handled and the crosscut length increased to over 24 inches.

Hello All: I am told that Ridgid is coming out with a similar flooring saw in early 2011. I hope it will do a little thicker wood flooring and perhaps cereamic tile as well. Anyone have any news on this, please email me at all-things-wood@bellsouth.net Thanks.

That would be nice. I would like to try that out if they do offer one. Where did you hear this bit of news and how reliable is it?

I hope they make it with a blade size that is readily available and not some unique size like the other two saws are. From what I have heard where the saws are available the blades are hard to get. I would be buying a couple blades right off the bat if I bought one of those saws because you know the blade will not be sharp forever.

Here's the Ryobi version. Like the Skil model is both rips and crosscuts, so you only need one saw on the job.
