  • TS2400 not holding depth with dado blades

I have a TS2400 that is about 3 months old. When I use a dado blades, the depth of the cut changes as soon as I turn on the saw. I can see the depth knob turn when I have the saw turned on. I have to hold the depth adjustment dial as I cut to hold the depth steady.

Does anyone know how to correct this behavior? It's really becoming a nuisance.

    Thanks!

    Rodger,

On the underside of the saw there is a nylon set screw. It is threaded into the aluminum part of the motor housing and rides against the elevation rod that is not threaded. Make sure this screw is tight and providing tension against that rod. If not tighten it up, if the screw is stripped please call 1-800-4RIDGID for a replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply! I found the screw you described and it worked great.
