  • Rigid Jointer for $279

Woo hoo!. Finally. Oswego, IL......near Aurora......found a Rigid jointer marked down to $299

With the 10% movers coupon I sent away for it was $270 plus tax.

Now how do I get it in the basement and where do I put it in the shop...hmmmmmm.

Anyone have this jointer on a mobile base? Which one?

I took some 2x material and made a wood platform by face gluing pieces together to size that I then set into a mobile base like this one. I used lag screws to secure the platform to the base and then I lagged screwed my Jet jointer onto the platform. That combination made for a rock solid stand for the jointer to sit on. I initially was just going to attach the jointer to the wood platform and use some double locking casters but decided to go the other route for the added stability. Either way would work.
