  • How to fit Ridgid R2901 router to Ryobi Table

I have a Ridgid router R2901 with an R2911 Base and R29202 Plunge base. I have a Ryobi table R163RTA. Is there any way to connect this router and table? Perhaps a universal sub base?

I have the earlier R161 model table and imagine that they are similar. The table is designed to use with the matching router, and though I'm sure you can go through some configuration (like a universal subbase) to get the R2901 to mount, I would not recommend doing it.

The table is designed for the lighter R161-163 Ryobi router which has less speed/torgue and body weight. Even with the matching router, there is some sag to the table. With a bigger and heavier router, I feel you'd be putting stress on the table that it was not designed for.

There are much better alternatives, and even making a simple and sturdy table would be safer and more cost effective I think.
