  • Miter slot parallelism

I was readjusting the fence and rails on my TS3612 over the weekend, and am also working on some jigs that will hopefully slide in both miter slots. Both topics got me wondering about the parallelism of the slots. I don't think I have a serious problem, but I was hoping someone, most likely Jake, could tell me what the tolerance is on this feature. I had made the mistake of using both slots to check blade and fence parallelism at different positions, and later found some discrepancies. I’d just like to put my mind to rest.

    JPM,

Its very unlikey that your miter slots are out of parallel. Both slots are cut at the same time on the same machine so there is little chance that they are out of parallel.

I have sent you a private message. Click on "My Profile" to view.
