Will an R1050C carbide saw blade cut non-ferrous metal in a miter-box such as a metal picture frame?

It'll cut some softer stuff like aluminum, but it's not really made for that, and it won't do the blade any favors in the long run....you've got a pretty decent blade there. IMHO, you'd be better off saving your R1050C for more critical wood cuts, and either buying a blade with a triple chip grind (TCG) that's intended for non-ferrous metals, or getting a cheap blade to sacrifice for your non-ferrous metal projects and other junk wood.

HomeDepo sells a steel demon for 39.00 that cuts steel like butter. In a regular saw be sure to wear sleeves and eye protection cause it does throw plenty of small chips.
