  • Lube for 2424

Jake, a question: I gave my saw a thorough cleaning this weekend (I tend to give it a cursory sweep with the shop vac after each day's use). I made a comb out of a piece of scrap to clean out the threads of the elevation and tilt screws, and then lubed them with some 20-weight motor oil, per the book. At that point I saw that the book does NOT say anything about putting a drop of oil on the arbor shaft, which would have seemed to me to be an obvious thing to do. So I didn't. Should the arbor shaft be periodically lubed?

You shouldn't need to lube the arbor. The bearings are sealed and permanently lubed.
