I would like to hear some feedback from the guys who have the EB4424 Oscillating Belt/Spindle Sander. I am considering getting on in the near future and would like to know if I should go with Ridgid or another brand and why?
Scott, of course you should go with a Ridgid. After all, this is the Ridgid forum.
Seriously, I have the aforementioned sander and find it to fit my needs quite well. I stumbled across a reconditioned one at HD for a mere $149.(Gloat, Gloat) This, of course makes me like it all the more.
I particularly like the fact that it changes easily from belt to spindle sander with no tools required. Size-wise it's quite portable and easy to set up. Dust collection is pretty good considering that you are sanding. All the accessories store quite handily on board.
I've noted some posts that complained that the spindle/belt was not at 90 degrees to the table. For what I have used it for so far , I can neither confirm nor deny this.
All in all, I think the Ridgid sander is a good, well designed machine.
