  • TS1300LS Planer snipe on one side only

My planer is two years old. I've always had out feed snipe, but can correct it by supporting the board. I never had in feed snipe until a couple of months ago AND it is only on the right side of the planer. I've adjusted the tables, and bought a new wear plate to no avail. I want to take the planer head off, disassemble it and check everything, but I am unable to find any instructions for disassembly. Any suggestions?

How is the flatness of the board you are feeding in?

If I get lazy and don't flatten one surface of a board really well before I plane it, the small difference (usually near the ends of the board) causes snipe. The I have to cut off the snipe and lose some wood.

Hmm... Never occurred to me. I'll check that out tomorrow.
      Thanks
