  • R4330 feed rollers slipping

I have an R4330 planer, about 6 months old. Was planing some mahogany yesterday, and the board would stop feeding, with less than favorable results. I was able to get through it with very small depth of cut, but was curious if anyone else has had this issue. It's the first time I've planed mahogany, but ran quite a bit of poplar through it recently with no issues.

I found nothing in the manual, except to use bug/tar remover to clean the rollers; however they don't look to have anything on them.

    Any advice appreciated.

Even if they don't look like they need it, clean the rollers(mineral spirits) and also wax the tables. One other thing, your knives may also need to be flipped.

      Thanks, I'll do that.

If I may ask a stupid question. How does one go about cleaning the rollers? Obviously not going to stick my hand in there while it's running, and I can't see how I'd get at anything other than the small portion of the roller that's exposed on the bottom. I guess a sponge on a stick would work?
