  • New r4512 arbor/blade nut about to strip !

After just finnishing assembly of my R4512 tablesaw I noticed when I installed the blade nut onto the arbor it was very sloppy. when threading blade nut on the arbor it moves back and forth about 1/8"

Has any of you guys experienced poor tollerances like this? The blade tightened ok, but I can see the thing stripping out down the road.

Nothing like that with mine but when in doubt take it back before there is a more serious problem.

It sounds almost like the factory double- or cross-threaded the arbor. It certainly should NOT have any slop whatsoever and as you described it, I'm of the opinion that it is too dangerous to even attempt to use.

I highly recommend that you take it back immediately!

I would return it and get a new one.... No point in taking an unnecessary risk and getting hurt.

Thanks for your input guys, I am hoping I can just replace the arbor or nut rather than the hastle of shipping the whole thing back to the store.
