  • Question for Jake...

    Jake:
I recently retrofitted a 1036 fence to an older Rockwell saw. As the fence mounting holes on the table are a bit higher than the Ridgid saws, there's a sizable gap between the fence and the tabletop. Not a big deal as I have an auxiliary fence that I'll use when dealing with thin materials. On the first test cuts, I discovered that the fence head sits proud of the table top. I modified the head by grinding it down and sanding it smooth until it sits just below the table top. I'd like to paint it to protect the metal and dress it back up. It looks like a powder coat finish. Is there anything out there available retail that might give a similar look?
The fence works like a champ. It's great to have the extra capacity and a beefier fence than what I've been using.
By the way, I saw the posts on the new drill press. Looks like it's going to be a good one.
    Thanks.

    Miles,

You're right the part is powder coated. Unfortunately, I do not have a specific paint color to tell you to purchase.
