I think it works great for the price on tails quick clean perfect cut.
Yea I was shown the correct way to turn it.

I'm all for gadgets and specialty tools, but this one wasn't my cup of tea.

No offense to Ridgid, but this tool is not for me.

I normally take my measurements and make my cuts outside the cabinet, but in most cases I can see there is enough room to turn this tool to cut the pipe under the cabinet. As for the double flanged tailpieces, extension tubes I make a quick rough cut with the hack saw, then give myself a good clean cut with the tool.

For under 20 bucks this tool is real nice and as I said in my first post I show it off to tons of people which in turn go out and get one right away.

I was turning the tool, and the rep showed me the way to do it, just don't remember. But my biggest issue with it was that it won't work on the double ended tailpieces as well as the room needed inside a cabinet, when working with existing piping.

Regardless, as mentioned before, it is not a stand alone tool, since it
won't work on double end tail pieces.

I just use a plain old scissor type cutter, apply steady pressure,
and rotate the tube until the blade cuts through. Makes a clean,
    square cut, no problem.
I may have it backwards. I am dyslexic, I do not own a scissor cutter so this tool comes in real handy for me when I use PVC tubular traps and end wastes. But my point is if you turn the tool or the tube the wrong direction it will not cut properly.

I did notice at the Road Show that some of the guys where turning the tube the direction of the arrow. Thing is the arrow is the direction you need to turn the tool. Once they where told to turn the tool the direction of the arrow, it worked flawlessly for them.

started a topic Where do I send the bill?

Where do I send the bill?

Ok I picked up a couple of these great Tailpieice Extension cutters. They work very well. I like the design and all. Granted you all need to come up with a flip open version to cut double flanged tailpieces. Also one that can do this to brass tubing as well.

Well about the bill part. This tool is so handy and does a great job I am showing everyone I meet how well it works. Thing is I run out of scrap tubular to show it off with and been cutting up the quarter bends on the traps along with tailpieces. So after I show a person how well this tool works, of course they want to try it so they make a few cuts. I say I am out a dozen or so tailpieces.

Keep up the great work on these types of tools Ridgid, I know every person I shown this went out and bought one that week.
Working...
