  • microReel Sneak Peak

I am proud to be launching this new product. The microReel is one of those products in our line that I have fallen in love with. I guess you could think of it as taking our SeeSnake Compact System and shrinking the form factor down to that of the microDrain. The microReel is really easy to transport and takes up almost no space on your truck.

I took this image of our Compact System next to the microReel as a little comparison... for our sales force. Figured I would share it with you guys too. (this is the configuration with the microEXPLORER as the CCU)

Also... its important to realize that the cable on this machine is different from the microDrain. The cable is more similar to the SeeSnake compact cable. This allows us to push the camera all the way up to 100 feet but for that pushability you sacrifice the ability to tie it in knots and lift anvils with it .

Moral of the story.. the cable is stiffer and allows you to push farther. its more similar to the cable in our compact, mini, and standard reels.

The microReel is an outstanding camera system for Laterals and lines up to 4". I have played with this system a lot. I'll try and post the inspection footage of my drains some time this week.

            - A very limited number of units have shipped already. Planning on ramping supply up in the next month.

            - Its probably a good idea to buy an additional EXPLORER battery if you are going that route. Runtime averages about 1.5 hrs on the battery with full LEDs.

What's the charge time on the MicroExplorer battery?

Can't find the manual. Trying to think towards the future.

              Thanks.

The manual states 4-5 hours for charging the MicroExplorer battery. Then you can only run the new system for 1.5 hours. Not good.

No complaints. But you better have 2 batteries on hand obviously at a minimum.

                      Thank you Josh! (and crew)

I had heard rumors of this system

I bought the Micro Explorer, a spare battery and auto charger in anticipation .

                      Anybody doing preorders yet?

One thing is fer sure, I'm sold on Ridgid products when it comes to their inspection cameras/locators.

Reminds me of the Apple Computer; you don't want to spend that money, but everyone who owns one talks highly of it and you know you have to get one.

I'll get one someday but I rarely get the opportunity to do inspections. I'm sure I could drum something up but I need to be turning away these types of calls weekly.

I guess it's time to start calling suppliers and see who has one of these. I've been waiting patiently for this camera to come out. For my area, it will be perfect.
