  • Home Depot Deal fail so far

    Hello,

About 2 weeks ago I purchase a Ridgid Hammer drill from home depot.
    today the 24th I purchased a Gen5X combo kit.
I ask for the battery deal and was told no multiple times.

So if there is a deal the store will not give it.

So how the heck can i get the battery deal?

    Thanks in advance
    Fred

Seems HD doesn't sell too many Ridgid kits anymore, and when they do, it's with the 2Ah batteries.

Look for an end of summer sale around the Labor Day weekend.

Beyond that pre holiday sales, holiday sales, post holiday, spring sales, Memorial Day weekend sales, July 4 sales.

There are two problems. One the HD is an absolute disaster. The staff knows nothing, does nothing, and are completely worthless across the board. If you can even get anyone to help you. Problem 2 is Rigid. They advertise deals and tools they dont have and won't ever have. So customers waste their time on a phone line where no one answers. This is a joke and Im not ever buying another Rigid product in my life. Its sad. I used to swear by this stuff and was one of their biggest fans. No more. You can do as well at Harbor Freight. The tools are cheap and are disposable.

sometimes to get the deals of bonus tools and battery kits you have to use the online purchase option. i have done this numerous times. ridgids website will accept the online order number for LSA registration.
HEY! What does this button do?

Hi Gang. I bought the turkey day sail at HD and bought the Pro Tool Storage System and can't get the website to accept any of the part number I get from HD site or the little pamphlet that came with the set. None of the toolboxes have serial numbers either....H E L P!!!

This post should answer your question about registering the storage boxes.

Home Depot seems to be working very differently because of pandemic situation. Their customer support is not friendly. Even I had a heated argument with them few weeks back.

Most of businesses affected by the pandemic and some are giving their best to adapt the changes including the way of customer support to deal on customer complaints. I think this Home Depot don't have proper orientation on their CS. https://www.lakelandsodinstall.com

I do have to agree with many of you who say that HD is in chaos. So many new hires who know nothing about the products they offer or the trades they try to represent. And moreover very few have the desire to learn. They do know how to operate the registers, which lately seem to be used less every day, falling to the self checkout machines. I live essentially equal distance (2 miles) between 3 different HD stores and each store has 2 or 3 old timers who can help you in the aisles if you are in their wheelhouse. But I am sure that HD is geared toward minimum wage plus a little. Certainly not a living wage and purposely rarely giving an unskilled labor employee more than 20 or 25 hours per week. And the ex-tradesman who they should employ atleast one pro per trade on the clock for every shift they will not even pay a shift managers salary fresh out of 2 or 4 year degree moonlighting there in search of something they can use their degree for and not a care in the world for the customers who consider the store their own supply house for things they need in a hurry with a jobsite nearby.

About the promotions. I use ryobi tools. I ha e maybe 10 of them. Drills, saws, nailers, sander, etc. In the last 2 weeks i have purchased and returned 4 different promotional products from ryobi and Milwaukee. I was in need of a hammer drill and wanted to upgrade. Spent alot of time online going over their promotions without even thinking about RIDGID tools. when I saw their brushless hammer drill combo with 2 extra 4ah max output batteries and a brushless 7.25" circular saw free for $399.00 I was going to order it. Wanted to go to the store to get a feel for the new tools. Walked into my local anaheim branch and saw the advertisement in the aisle by the ridgid display that I thought was on line only and looked to find the parts included in the deal. Called the guy with the keys over and I basically told him what came with it. Cashier rang up extras first and when the combo was scanned it all automatically was right in the world.

Yes I am an impulse buyer who needs instant gratification. i share this story because when i read the gentleman story here about not getting all of the products that were to come with the promotion at the time of purchase I had to say that I was surprised to find all of the moving parts in stock and actually scanning correctly as part of the promotion.

Thank you. I hope to enjoy this opportunity to share knowledfe with others.
