This is the generator I have, used during hurricane Irma in 2017 for 10 hrs, then drained fuel and ran dry, drained carb., changed oil and added 1tsp of oil to cylinder, turned engine over once a year. Then needed for hurricane Ian 5 yrs later this year (2022), filled with gas, turned on electrical switch, and turned fuel line switch to Open, right away saw a drip of fuel come out of the fuel switch housing, and it kept dripping fuel for maybe 5 minutes, needed power so started up generator, started right away!, and fuel switch leak stopped. Any ideas as to why fuel switch was leaking and how to prevent it from happening? Think when brand new there was some grease in there that caused a starting problem, but finally got it flushed out. Maybe it need some grease?, but why did it stop leaking, did a gasket swell after contact with gas?
