New TTI products and cost cutting
Well today I was walking around the home depot, checking out the new ryobi and ridgid miter saws.
I was disappointed to see that the pivot for the bevel is now a cheap sand-cast iron piece. Moreover the upper blade guards on the ryobi saws are no longer cast aluminum. They were replaced with cheap stamped guards (with jagged edges to boot!).
On the bright side, the new ryobi slider looks like a very good tool for the money. If i was in the market for an entry level miter saw I would either look at the aging, but very good dewalt or the new ryobi SCMC.
