This thought came to mind a few days ago and I felt it is worth a diligent effort to try and get this forum community involved with Mike Rowe and his interesting jobs he does. What better idea than to introduce the most well known plumber on this site.
Here is Mike Rowe in a few of his show bloopers to remind you of who he is
To all the forum members:
This needs to be a group effort. I started off with what I believe is a very good introduction to what Ridgid Tools and Plumber Rick has to offer to this show and this needs to be a drumroll so it happens. We all love tools and technology and what better person than Rick to exemplify the high standard. Since he is already photogenic and not afraid to post himself or situations he gets himself into, this would be a history making moment for Ridgid, a forum community and the man himself showing plumbers across the world in Dirty Jobs. With all this technology offered by Ridgid tools, the viewing public needs to know it exists. Dirty Jobs needs to know it exists, understanding that we've come pretty far from the day of hand snakes and plungers.
I'll set this up for everyone who is a registered member to easily view the thread posted on Dirty Jobs show ideas forum, the login page to join and participate on that thread describing why it is such a good idea, and why it should happen.
Here we go!

Here's the actual request to Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs
http://community.discovery.com/group...ages/blank.gifSewage Backups, Plumber Rick, and Ridgid Tool Company As a proud member of Ridgid.com forums, I'd like to nominate a longstanding member of the site that goes by Plumber Rick. He's a licensed Plumbing Contractor that resides and works in California, married to his lovely wife 'Joey' who also goes by the name "Mrs. Seat Down". Ridgid.com's forum is a community of all walks of life from new construction workers to welders to woodworkers, hvac, electrical, and of course, plumbing contractors. Whether you're retired or just entering the work force, this community of people of all ages come together to discuss the trades, professions along with the tools used from the novice to the professional along the way.
One of the longstanding members stands out above the rest and now is his time to give Mike Rowe something to talk about. Plumber Rick has been a plumber for a number of years and along the way he's accumulated more than just a couple of tools in his profession. To say that Plumber Rick has only one drain cleaning machine, one plunger http://community.discovery.com/group...on_biggrin.gif or even one sewer inspection camera would be stating Mike Rowe has never wore mud on his shoes before. And this brings together the reason why Mike needs to know about Plumber Rick and Ridgid products he uses every day:
Plumbing is what we say, "a dirty job" profession, depending one what has went wrong. Technology has its place, and the latest electronics and methods involving different tools designed and built by Ridgid Tool Company is where a plumber like Rick brings new meaning to doing more than clearing drains, replacing drain pipes, making a mess to fix a mess. Want a bucket of disease and disturbing smells? Come no further than a day with our beloved Rick.
It is not all too uncommon to see Plumber Rick on Ridgid Forums posting his latest catches for all to see, how his electronic equipment made for an easy task to tackle jobs that otherwise would be a guessing game.
So this day spent with Plumber Rick with an already eager audience back at the forum including staff at Ridgid headquarters in Elryia Ohio, Mike Rowe would be subjected to the technological advances that uses products that mean more than trudging through deep sewage, or arriving at a property with sewage bubbling up through the ground or a basement of floating furniture. Operating a sewer camera hand pushing 150 feet of line looking for the lost treasure in a pipe might be worth that spritz of sewage in the face when you're not paying close attention.
If you want dirty, Plumber Rick can provide the dirty. A jetting machine for cleaning out muck filled drain lines or grease clogs at restaurants, Drain machines of all shapes and sizes to go after root-bound drains that offer more human fecal matter than Mike can hold his nose to. http://community.discovery.com/group...icon_smile.gif
This is just more than a plumber and his tools, this is an experience for Mike Rowe and his crew to endure given the drive and endurance that goes by the name of our resident plumber. Farfetched? No. Iconic? Maybe. Have Mike Rowe ask Rick to make him a milk shake with his beloved K-60, and you now have a good show with more than just malfunctioning plumbing..
Here is our community of members
We will follow up with a thread posting dedicated to our group interest and hope that you'll consider this moment to welcome Mike Rowe and Dirty Jobs into our family as technology, equipment and plumbing all come together.
Gloves and safety glasses required, ability to drink a milk shake made by a drain cleaning machine is a must for the welcoming ritual.
Here's the competing requests for show ideas
