If I'm being totally honest, my corded drill probably enjoys a long lifespan because I'll use a cordless 95% of the time.
When I bought my corded drill, the cutting edge of cordless was about 146 in/lbs of torque. At the time a cordless was for light duty. There are very few things I need to do that I can't with my 18V cordless drills.
I loaned out my corded drill and haven't missed it.
