call the gas company
no labels fittings have yellow dot and was told I have to spray paint pipe yellow. Also told gas is dry no need to grade but need "dirt" legs. I hope I can paint it with out making the basement yellow since I have all ready installed the pipe!
Ok guys you will get pictures tomorrow!
Good news Pro-Press gas system passed! Test rig did not move at all held 30 psi for 24 hrs! I go back @ 2:00 to hook up appliances do a material count to finish out the bill. and I will get the pictures !
Well that is it I just have to figure out the bill I gave him a contract and told him I would adjust it to what parts were used. The inspector wants me to call him after the appliances are hooked up and that is going to have to wait until tomorrow since they split at 3:30. I still have to hook up the new ice maker line but he is moving in tomorrow so maybe I will do thursday. I did forget to take a picture of that but it's all pro press and copper too.
I've always said as the G system proves itself it will absolutely destroy the threaded BI market. While the labor savings vs. soldering on the water side is known, the savings on the gas side would seem to be much larger.
Both copper and the G system have been approved here in N.C. for awhile.
Sorry threader people. Just guessing at the long-term big picture.
How much time did it take to install the pipe using propress as opposed to doing it with black iron?
