Model P-TEC 2550 Tailpiece Extension Cutter
The RIDGID® Tailpiece Extension Cutter is the first cutter of its kind that provides the hassle free ability to execute a clean, fast, and straight cut on thin-walled plastic tube. The New Model P-TEC 2550 can be used on Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), and Thin-Walled PVC disposer kits, tailpieces, and wall tubes of two standard sizes: 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" OD; both sizes with the same tool.
the subject came up at the roundup about double ended tail pieces. not too sure about a split design, but a quick ruff cut with a tiny tim will cut it to approx. length and then a nice clean cut with the ptec cutter.
or just buy them and cut them in half from the get go.
i rather doubt they are $15.00. but if they are, give me a case of them
phoebe it is
I remember that there was a contest at the round-up about naming the cutter and was wondering who won and came up with the name? Did Rick win this one? I cant wait to get one they work great and are so much better than a hack saw.

Don't get me wrong. I like it. Easiest job in the world is inspecting something and finding issues with it.
I would have made it out of lightweight aluminum (like some mini-hacksaws) and hinged at the end. Flip open, clamp down, spin.
I know it probably would have cost more too.
I like Ridgid "SLICE" for marketing. More easily remembered and recognized in somewhere like Home Depot.
And I'll need the name of the person that plumbed that sink in the background.
$18.08 plus shipping at Ohio Power Tool. At that price there is no reason not to have one (or in Rick's case 3 or 4). I really expected the price to be significantly higher. Nice job Ridgid!
Distractions are everywhere, don't lose sight of your dream.
Hey guys - thanks for the feedback! List price is $20.55 on the cutter. I've noticed some questions about a brass solution, both on the forum and at the Roadshows. Is this something you guys would be interested in? Can you list some issues you're having right now?
