I have been bad in the past about wearing eye and ear protection. Stupid me... I now have had ringing in my ear for the last 6 months and I dont think its going away all because I Didnt take 30 seconds to find ear plugs when i was shooting anchors into the wall.
Also... I was tying another circuit in a few months back and was too lazy to flip off the breaker. Also wasnt wearing safety glasses. I shorted the line and burn up my pliers. nice little chunk of hot metal hit me right on my brow line.
I thanked God for protecting me in my stupidity then shut off the breaker and put safety glasses on.
Its sometimes a pain. but well worth the effort.
I now carry a box of safety glasses and a box of ear plugs. No more excuses. (Now I have to remember to wear gloves when chiseling out morter and brick. My thumb can't take too many more hits.)

I have never had that happen glue in the eye sound pretty bad . I have had a piece of copper get stuck on my eye that was not cool . I was an apprentice at the time and was cleaning fittings for a heater replacement and I felt it stick in and I turned around and told the plumber to look at my eye and see if he could see any thing and he like freaked out and said oh my god you are going to have to go the hospital . I told him the he!! I am you are going to pull it out . And we argued for about five min. about this and I grabbed his pair of needle nose pliers put them in his hands and told him get the dam thing out! well he finally did and I have not had a problem since .
I wear prescription safety glasses
I don't always have the side shields on tho, which causes me to loose them.
The next set I get are going to get the side shields permanently attached.
