Re: Ridgid battery exchange proposal (POLL)
I would like to see the option of exchanging my second and third generation LI-ION batteries for the X4 batteries. The big difference I have a I notice with them is the X4 work when cold. I have a nice pile of X3 era bricks.
I doubt Home Depot or any service center will take the bait on this battery exchange idea, what is in it for them?? Mail order would be the ticket.
I would be curious on what the actual markup and or cost to manufacture/ship accessories such as batteries. If you were to break down the $500 price on a X3 or X4 tool kit, most certainly the batteries cant be $100 each. The more parts you buy, the cheaper it all is...
The big picture here is that everybody is in business to make money, not do us favors.
NICD batteries in good condition still power the tools quite well, I would take the 3.0ah NICD over a 3.0ah X3 just about any day.

We don't have preventative maintenance around here, we have CRISIS MANAGEMENT!
