Newer Ridgid 345 flare tool
Can someone tell me if the flare bar on new 345 flaring tools is correctly sized for 3/8 OD tubing? It seems small to me for holding 3/8 OD copper without damaging it. If you tighten the clamping screw all the way the copper is crushed. Yes this is the 3/8 hole. The next size up is 7/16 and is too large. It seems if you do not tighten it sufficiently, the flare will be formed offset the center of the tubing. I hope Ridgid has some bars with correct diameter holes on hand.
